§ 7.25.060. Written notice of possession of disposable property.

  • A.

    The Anchorage Police Department shall, except as provided in subsection D. below, provide a written notice of possession of disposable property to the last known owner and any finder of disposable property concurrently with posting a notice of disposal property under Section 7.25.050 B.

    B.

    The written notice of possession of disposable property shall be sent certified mail to the last known address of the owner and any finder, or if the owner or finder is incarcerated, sent via fax, in lieu of certified mail, to the correctional institution where the owner or finder may reside.

    C.

    The final notice of possession shall contain the information required by Section 7.25.050B.

    D.

    This section does not apply to items of $50.00 or less, forensic evidence, destructible, dangerous or perishable property, items forfeited by a court, money payable on traveler's checks, money orders, and other instruments presumed abandoned.
