    A member who becomes disabled, but is not eligible for an occupational disability shall receive a monthly benefit of 25 percent of final average compensation at the time of disability if the member retires after more than five, but less than ten years of credited service. For every additional year of credited service in excess of ten years, up to a total of 20 years, the member's benefit shall be increased by two and one-half percent of final average compensation.
