§ 27.30.030. Spenard Service Area.

A.

There is established, pursuant to section 9.01 of the Charter, a service area within the municipality to be the Spenard Service Area (SSA) of the municipality, as outlined on the map located in section 27.30.700.

B.

All of those services formerly authorized to be performed in the Spenard Service Area under state law and ordinances of the former Greater Anchorage Area Borough may continue to be exercised in the Spenard Service Area, provided that services formerly provided, or which could have been provided, in the former Spenard Service Area, may be transferred to new or other service areas where the assembly, by ordinance, consolidates service areas in which services are provided by the municipality at the same level.

C.

Police services formerly provided by the Spenard Service Area are now provided by a consolidated Anchorage Police Service Area.
