§ 21.20.130. Effective date of amendments.

A.

An ordinance amending the zoning map shall be effective:

1.

Upon passage and approval;

2.

At a specified time after passage and approval; or

3.

Upon the occurrence of one or more specified events after passage and approval, which may be required to occur on or before a specified time after passage and approval.

B.

An ordinance amending the zoning map that is effective upon the occurrence of an event is effective only if the event occurs. If the event is required to occur on or before a specified time after passage and approval, the ordinance is effective only if the event occurs on or before the specified time; provided that the planning and zoning commission, for good cause, may extend the time within which the event may occur.
