§ 16.100.060. Ambulance dispatch.

  • A.

    It is unlawful for any person other than the fire chief to dispatch a vehicle used as an ambulance.

    B.

    The fire chief shall determine which patients can be transported by an ambulance service.

    C.

    The fire chief shall dispatch licensed ambulances for nonemergency service by use of a rotation system unless the person requesting service designates a particular ambulance service. An ambulance service may not directly request service for a patient.

    D.

    An ambulance service in lawful possession of a type I license issued pursuant to this chapter shall not refuse a rotation dispatch unless all of its vehicles are then engaged in service.
